Foundations
How HYDE works: Prop, Broker and hedge
Understand both sides of the operation before configuring a licence.
HYDE connects two separate MetaTrader terminals: the Prop account, where the source position is detected, and the Broker account, where the calculated hedge is executed.
- The Node watches the assigned Prop terminal.
- It normalises symbol, direction and volume when it detects an eligible position.
- It calculates Broker volume from Challenge Size, Total DD and HYDE Cost.
- It sends and monitors the position on the configured Broker terminal.
- It records events and errors in licence Activity.
HYDE is software infrastructure: it does not select trades, promise payouts or remove spreads, slippage, prop rules or execution risk.
Installation
Complete checklist before starting a Node
The procedure that prevents most connection and authorisation errors.
- Install two separate MetaTrader terminals, one for the Prop and one for the Broker.
- Sign in to the correct account in each terminal and verify the saved account number.
- Keep both terminals open and enable AutoTrading/Algo Trading.
- Confirm that the market is open and symbols are visible in Market Watch.
- In HYDE select the licence and save both paths; do not reuse them for another active Node.
- Save HYDE Setup and start the Node; the app opens Activity to show its state.
Before using real capital, run a controlled test on compatible demo environments and verify opening, volume, direction, closing and reconnection.
Licences
Licences, Nodes, slots and devices
One licence includes one Node, one terminal pair and one editable HYDE Setup.
A HYDE Licence is the purchased slot. A Node is the process installed on a PC or VPS. Each licence includes one Node, one Prop/Broker terminal pair and one editable HYDE Setup. The Node Key is generated by the system, cannot be edited and binds the installation to the licence.
- One licence can be linked to one active device at a time.
- Running several Nodes simultaneously requires different licences.
- Each Node needs its own MetaTrader terminals and paths.
- To update Challenge Size, Total DD or HYDE Cost, edit the licence Setup rather than creating extra configurations.
- To change PC or VPS, stop the Node and release the device in License Center.
- An administrator can suspend, extend or reassign the subscription and change licence limits.
Analysis & Tracking cycles are separate statistical records: they do not consume licences or operating Setups.
Connection
Symbols, suffixes and supported pairs
Handle different names for the same instrument between Prop and Broker.
Brokers may name the same instrument EURUSD, EURUSD.a or EURUSDpro. HYDE must identify the destination symbol and respect its minimum, maximum and step volume.
- Show the instrument in Market Watch on both terminals.
- Confirm that both instruments represent the same underlying market.
- Check contract size, account currency, tick size and volume step.
- Test with minimum volume before planned operation.
Do not force a mapping only because names look similar: CFDs, futures and different expiries can have incompatible specifications.
Calculation
How to calculate hedge lot size with HYDE Setup
Challenge Size, Total DD and HYDE Cost determine Broker proportion.
HYDE Setup uses three main values: Challenge Size, Total DD and HYDE Cost. Monetary drawdown is Challenge Size × Total DD; the base ratio is HYDE Cost ÷ monetary drawdown.
For a 100,000 challenge, 6% DD and 1,500 HYDE Cost, monetary DD is 6,000 and the theoretical ratio is 0.25: 1 Prop lot corresponds to 0.25 Broker lots before symbol-specification adjustments.
Before applying it, verify contract size, account currency, tick value, leverage, margin, min/max/step volume, spread, commissions, slippage and symbol suffixes. If specifications differ, a simple ratio is not equivalent exposure. Test on demo first; this calculation cannot guarantee a loss limit, challenge result or payout.
Planner
HYDE Planner for static drawdown
Simulate one or more challenge phases and inspect every path.
- Select Instant, 1-Step, 2-Step or a custom model.
- Enter challenge fee, size, drawdown and target for every phase.
- Configure only a Broker deposit bonus that is actually available.
- Define the desired net result if a breach occurs.
- Read passed and breached scenarios separately.
The Planner carries prior costs into the next phase. Always inspect required cash deposit, potential Broker loss and final funded cost.
Planner
Equity Trailing and EOD Planner
A moving loss limit requires a different simulation from static drawdown.
With equity trailing, the loss threshold may rise with the highest equity; under EOD rules it may update at the end of the day. This changes actual capital at risk.
- Enter exact starting balance, threshold, target and update rule.
- Check whether the threshold locks at starting balance or keeps trailing equity.
- Verify whether the firm uses intraday equity, closed balance or an EOD snapshot.
- Simulate gaps, spread and partial closes.
The firm’s official terms always prevail over the programme’s marketing name.
Analysis
Cycle tracking and statistics
Record costs, accounts, payouts and Broker results without confusing tracking with execution.
A cycle records the full economics of a challenge: Prop cost, linked Broker, phases, funded account, payouts and closure.
- Record the initial fee and each additional cost.
- Link the correct Broker and preserve its initial capital.
- Add payouts only after receipt.
- Close the cycle only after both sides have ended.
Analytics aggregates recorded cycles into gross and net balance, challenge spend, Broker PNL, pass rate and average result. It is not a bank statement or tax record.

How to evaluate a prop firm
An independent checklist for rules, reputation, payouts and technical compatibility.
HYDE does not certify or guarantee any prop firm. Before buying, verify:
- static, balance trailing, equity trailing or EOD drawdown;
- daily loss, maximum loss, consistency and minimum-day rules;
- instruments, hours, news, weekend holding, EA and copier policies;
- rules against cross-account hedging, latency arbitrage or coordinated strategies;
- actual MT5/MT4 compatibility;
- payout timing, percentage, thresholds and independent evidence;
- company, jurisdiction, support history, rule changes and termination clauses;
- reset, activation and scaling costs.
Do not concentrate the entire budget with one provider, and retain a copy of the rules valid at purchase time.
Support
Activity, logs and common errors
What to inspect when a Node does not start or a terminal does not connect.
- Authorization failed (-6): the terminal is not authenticated to the configured account, credentials are wrong or the server differs.
- Terminal path invalid: the saved path is wrong or already used by another Node.
- AutoTrading disabled: enable Algo Trading and EA permissions.
- Symbol unavailable: show it in Market Watch and check suffix and specifications.
- Remote disconnected: check network, VPS, firewall and server state, then restart once.
When opening a ticket include time, licence, Activity screenshot and latest log lines, with passwords and credentials removed.

Getting Started
How HydeProtocol works
From registration to a running Node.
Create your account, accept the service agreement and activate a subscription. Each included Node slot receives a unique Node Key. Install HydeProtocol Node on Windows, select the PROP and broker terminals, paste the key and connect. The website then receives operational status, market data and cycle information.
Planner
Using HYDE Planner
Plan static and equity-trailing drawdown scenarios.
Use Static when the maximum-loss threshold remains fixed. Use Equity Trailing when it follows equity under the program rules. Enter challenge cost, account size, drawdown and target exactly as published.
The Planner is a scenario tool. Verify daily-loss and end-of-day mechanics against the current contract.
Prop firms
How to evaluate a prop firm
A due-diligence checklist before purchasing a challenge.
- Read current drawdown, consistency, news, overnight and copy-trading rules.
- Verify legal identity, jurisdiction, payout evidence and complaint handling.
- Check platform, broker, symbols, suffixes, contract sizes and execution.
- Understand payout frequency, inactivity and prohibited strategies.
- Test support and save the rules accepted at purchase.
HYDE does not certify or guarantee third-party providers.
Risk
Trading and prop-firm risk
What HYDE can and cannot protect you from.
HYDE is execution and analysis software, not investment advice and not a guarantee of passing a challenge. Slippage, rejected orders, symbol differences, outages, VPS failures and rule changes can produce different results between accounts.
Never risk money you cannot lose. Keep a manual emergency procedure and monitor every active session.
Security
HYDE security checklist
Protect accounts, terminals and licences.
- Enable two-factor authentication.
- Use unique passwords and a password manager.
- Patch Windows, MetaTrader and the VPS.
- Never share Node keys or remote credentials.
- Review the security log and release old devices.
